Sabbath

We don't we start with something easy, like the Sabbath. For now we can just brainstorm and get verses. Under a category of how it relates to the Sabbath, we can just put a short summary of a verse. That way it's organized and really easy to find things to start with...Awesome, man! This is Gary. Good stuff! The things I added are in blue. I also have an article made up that I gave to Tristan and Ian. It's basically a "prototype", or exact replica, of how I thought we could do it. Of course, changes can always be made. The Sabbath
(Short description, introduction, that so of thing, to introduce the topic.) Sunday is the day of worship for most churchgoers. But is it really the Sabbath day that God sanctified? Is it the true day of rest? What is the truth about God's Holy Day, the Sabbath? Should we keep the Sabbath in the first place? What does the Bible say?

Many reasons have uprisen to justify why Sunday is the day of worship, and why there's really no need to rest. But what does God and His Word say about the Sabbath day?

Why should we keep it?
In Exodus 20:8-11, God commands us to keep the Sabbath. In first 8, God says that shall "remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." For six days, we are free to go along our way, to work, to earn, to labor, and to do our daily routine. But the Lord "rest on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it."

In Matthew 12, it says in verse 8:

v. 8 "For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." Even Christ kept the Sabbath!

How do we keep it?

Exodus 20:8-11 gives a simple outline of how we are to obey the Sabbath. God tells us, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work; you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." We don't do any work, we don't have the people living with us do any work. By worldly standards, we take a day off.
God reminds us how to keep it in Leviticus 23:3. "Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings." Once again, He tells us that the Sabbath is holy, and that we are to do no work on it. Why is this day so special? What is the purpose of the Sabbath?

Purpose

Genesis 2:3 ; God blessed it and sanctified it "because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made"

Get how I'm trying to organize it? Feel free to add/modify/change things around to improve it. I just want to start trying things out. I just added a more detailed description, that's all. Thanks, Josh, for starting us off a bit to get used to what we'll be doing. Titles on the Article, and of the next question/subject (eg. "How Do We Keep It?") can be changed or altered at a later date to intrigue the reader, or we can just keep it plain. Just so it looks clean cut!
